The department of Periodontics deals with motivation & maintenance of oral hygiene procedures, gingival & alveolar bone care procedures & also provides instruction & clinical experience in dealing with the etiology, diagnosis, prevention & treatment of diseases of the periodontium in adults.

Various treatment procedures are oral prophylaxis, gum care surgeries, periodontal flap surgeries, alveolar bone grafting surgeries & advanced gum surgeries like smile designing, micro periodontal plastic surgery & recent advancements includes oral implantology, usage of lasers & peri implant care & ridge augmentation. A special emphasis on medically compromised patients.

• Goal of this department is to provide the undergraduate students with a strong educational foundation in periodontics for their future career in dentistry & to contribute new knowledge through basic & clinical research globally.
• Clinics are well equipped with advanced equipments, materials & diagnostic aids to learn & expertise all the treatment modalities in periodontics under the continuous guidance, supervision of efficient and dedicated teaching faculty to motivate the students towards research aspects.
• A well equipped minor operation theatre as per center of Disease controls and Prevention norms is available for implant cases and laser treatment for periodontal diseases.
